1997

SDL Incorporation

Originally founded as a GIS company with early adoption of the ESRI software, Spatial Data Logic becomes incorporated.

2003

Geologic Rebranded to SDL Desktop

SDL’s GIS software, Geologic, is rebranded to SDL Desktop, expanding to include modules for various New Jersey departments. Underscoring the commitment to continued innovation, SDL launches modules for various New Jersey departments, allowing clerk, building, land use, and zoning staff to manage all processes on one platform.

2012

SDL Portal Launches

The launch of the  SDL Portal expands SDL’s reach by providing new ways for employees and community members to interact online. The portal brings new functionality to local governments through online services for residents and enhanced tools for employees.

2016

Mobile App Launches

The SDL Mobile app enabled employees working in the field to increase efficiency and streamline inspections. Since it’s launch, there have been over 5 million inspections completed through the app.

 

2019

SDL Partners with ICC

SDL partners with the International Code Council (ICC), giving users access to their codes from within SDL’s software.

2019

SDL Acquires GovSites

The acquisition of GovSites expands Spatial Data Logic’s offerings to include websites for local governments. This addition to SDL’s core offerings bolsters the connectivity between local government and the community members they serve.

2020

Remote Inspections Launched

During the COVID-19 pandemic, SDL released a remote inspection tool, giving employees and community members the tools to perform inspections safely while saving significant time.

2021

SDL Connect Launched

SDL creates an intuitive form builder in an effort to bring more government services online to support communities through the pandemic. This digitization effort is the driving factor to building our best-in-class software, SDL Connect.

2022

Strategic Growth

SDL partners with Gauge Capital to add strategic resources and investments to enhance SDL’s solutions.

2023

SDL Portal App Launched

As demand for online and mobile services grows, SDL launches a native app containing all the features and functionality of the online portal. 

2024

Expanding Reach Through Strategic Partnerships

SDL enters a strategic agreement with Google Public Sector and Carahsoft, making SDL Connect available through additional channels. 

2024

SDL Acquires Municipal Information Systems, Inc.

The acquisition of Municipal Information Systems, Inc. helps New Jersey local governments and their communities comply with NJ State Bill 1145.
